😏OK..NOW WHAT? (your Q & A)
What might I do that my dog hates?

Sometimes we need to read the signs to keep our pups happy🤔

So what might you be doing that your dog doesn't quite like to put it mildly.🙄

Here are 11 things that most dogs hate.

  1. Using Words More Than Body Language: Dogs may get mixed signals if we rely on words more than body language during interactions.

  2. Hugging Your Pup: While we might love hugs, dogs often see it as a sign of dominance rather than affection.

  3. Petting Dogs Faces: Many doggos don't enjoy having their faces petted, it's important to respect their personal space.

  4. Walking Up to a Strange Dog While Looking it in the Eye: Direct eye contact can be perceived as a sign of dominance or aggression by dogs.

  5. Not Providing Structure & Rules: Pooches thrive on structure & boundaries, consistent rules help them feel secure.

  6. Forcing Your Pup to Interact with Dogs or People it Doesn't Like: Respect your pup's social preferences to avoid stress or aggression.

  7. Going on Walks Without Allowing Time for Exploration & Smelling: Dogs rely heavily on their sense of smell, so let them sniff around & explore during walks.

  8. Keeping a Tight Leash: A tight leash can signal tension & stress to your pooch, aim for a relaxed leash during walks.

  9. Being Tense: Dogs can pick up on your stress & mirror it, staying calm helps your dog feel at ease.

  10. Being Boring: Dogs need mental & physical stimulation, engage in training, play, or new activities to keep them happy & entertained.

  11. Teasing Your Pup: Teasing can lead to stress & behavioral issues in dogs, always treat your pup with kindness & respect.

Our adorable pooches have their own ways of communicating & interacting. (and they never cease to amaze🥰)

By being mindful of their preferences & body language, we can ensure a happier & more harmonious relationship with our beloved pups.

When you're spending time with your dog, pay attention to their cues. It can help you show them the love & respect you feel in a way that they truly appreciate.❤

🧠🌿WOOF WELLBEING
Why dog noses are wet or dry, & when it matters.

Those adorable noses that find their way into everything❤

🌟 Let’s sniff out why your dog's nose is usually wet?

A wet nose in dogs serves more than just being cute , it helps pooches with their incredible sense of smell.

Dogs use their moist noses to pick up scents, identify people, & regulate their body temperature.

The thin layer of mucus on their noses allows them to detect various scents effectively, making their sniffing adventures even more exciting!

Here are some reasons why your dog's nose may be dry:

  • Dehydration from issues like diarrhea, fever, or excessive panting.

  • Blocked tear ducts causing dryness & discomfort.

  • Overactivity leading to neglecting nose licking & hydration.

  • Breed specific issues, particularly in short-snouted breeds.

  • Sunburn sensitivity in light-colored dogs.

  • Sleeping. Like we can wake up with a dry mouth, our pups can wake up with a dry nose. They fix it by licking it again when they wake up.

To help your pooch maintain a healthy nose, follow these tips:

  • Ensure access to fresh water to prevent dehydration.

  • Consider using dog safe nose balm or coconut oil for moisture.

  • Keep your pup cool & hydrated during hot weather.

  • Pay attention to signs of discomfort or dryness & seek your vets advice if needed.

A well cared for nose is a happy nose on your precious pup. (and so boopable😁)

By providing proper hydration, gentle moisturization, & regular care, you can help keep your dog's nose healthy & ensure they continue to enjoy their sniffing adventures to the fullest! 🐾

🌍What’s a sploot & why doggos do it?

That is one cuuute splootin’ furry butt😀

Let’s decode the magnificent dog sploot!

To start with, splooting (sometimes called frogging, pancaking or superman😏) is when your dog lies down with their belly on the floor & their hind legs stretched out behind them.

It might look funny, but it's actually a natural & comfortable position for many dogs, especially smaller breeds like corgis & chihuahuas.

Splooting can be a cool way for your pup to chill out & stretch those leg muscles.

However, if you're noticing your older dog splooting more often than usual, it might be worth keeping an eye on.

Older dogs splooting could be a sign of joint or muscle discomfort, so it's essential to monitor any changes in their behavior or walking patterns. Taking a trip to the vet can help rule out any underlying issues & ensure your pup stays happy & healthy.

While splooting is generally harmless & even beneficial for most dogs, it's essential to provide comfort for pups with joint pain or arthritis.

Offering a soft bed or cushioned spot for them to sploot can help alleviate any discomfort.

Enjoy your pup’s funny stretches that are a part of what makes them so special, while keeping an eye on their splooting habits as part of your pup-care routine.❤

Happy splooting😀

🤔PAWSE TO REMEMBER

Be cautious with balloons. They may seem like fun for a dog but keep them out of reach as popped balloons can be a choking hazard.
