šOK..NOW WHAT? (your Q & A)
Why your dog gets stressed when you leaveā& how to ease it.

I know those signals Mum & I donāt like them š¬
When you're getting ready to leave the house, your dog might start to act a little anxious. This stress often comes from what are called pre-departure cues (PDQs).
These are the little things you do before you head out, like putting on your shoes or grabbing your keys, that signal to your dog that youāre about to leave. They pick up on these signals, & it can make them feel very uneasy.
Some things to keep in mind about PDQs:
Observant Nature. Dogs are super observant & notice changes in your routine.
Stressful Behaviors:.Common reactions include barking, crying, or even destructive behavior as a response to anxiety.
Multiple Triggers. The more PDQs you perform, the more stressed your dog may become, leading to increased anxiety.
To help your dog feel more comfortable:
Avoid punishment or crating them. These can increase their anxiety rather than help.
Instead, try to stay calm when leaving & returning home.
Make your departures low-key, & donāt give them treats or extra attention right before you go.
By keeping a watchful eye & making some subtle changes in how you interact with your dog, you can help your pup feel more relaxed when itās time for you to leave.

The key to good dog behavior. teaching your dog to say āpleaseā.

Ah such a happy, polite, adorable pooch š
Teaching your dog to say "please" is a fun and effective way to encourage good behavior. Itās all about getting your pup to ask nicely for what they want, just like we teach kids to use polite words.
By training them to perform a simple action, like sitting or lying down, before receiving their favorite things, you can help them learn that good manners get rewarded.
Some things to know:
What Does It Mean? Asking your dog to say "please" teaches them that they can earn what they want by behaving well.
When to Ask? Anytime your dog wants something like food, toys, or your attention is a great time to ask them to say "please."
Why It Works: This approach helps your dog understand that you control the fun stuff, which can make them listen better & focus on you.
To get started, follow these steps:
Choose a simple behavior for your dog, like sitting or lying down.
During mealtime, prepare their food & place the dish on the ground.
Ask your dog to sit before you put down the dish.
If they perform the behavior, praise them & reward them immediately with their food.
If they donāt respond right away, wait a few seconds, then try asking for a simpler behavior they know well.
Keep practicing so your dog learns that saying "please" leads to good things!
Happy training & closer bondingš„°

šPawtection. What to know about your dogās vaccines.

Quick & easy, just focus on that liver treat rewardš
When it comes to keeping your dog healthy, vaccinations are sooo very important. They help protect your pup from serious diseases & keep them safe.
Letās sniff into what you need to know about their vaccines.
What vaccines do dogs need?
There are two main types of vaccines: core & non-core.
Core vaccines, like rabies & parvovirus, are essential for all dogs.
Non-core vaccines, such as those for lyme disease or kennel cough, depend on your dog's lifestyle, environment & possibly your location (always check before you travel).
Understanding the vaccination schedule
Puppies usually start getting their vaccines between six to eight weeks old, with a series of shots until theyāre around 16 weeks.
After that, adult dogs will need booster shots every one to three years to stay protected depending on the vaccine & itās purpose.
Are vaccines safe?
Vaccines are generally safe & can save your dogās life. While some pups might have mild reactions, serious side effects are rare.
Always check with your vet to make sure your dog gets the right vaccines for their health needs.
Keeping up with vaccinations helps to ensure your dog stays happy & healthyā
š¤PAWSE TO REMEMBER
Let Your Dog Decide. When itās safe, letting your pup use their instincts to explore whatās around them & choose which direction to walk gives them a more enriching experience, is good for their mental wellbeing & builds confidence for those more anxious.
