😏OK..NOW WHAT? (your Q & A)
Can dog parents make dogs depressed?

Our pups..sensitive to us & just...sensitive🥰

There is good reason we feel so connected to our dogs emotionally, it’s because we are, but being so connected can our actions make our dogs feel down?

Turns out, yes! Just like us, our pups can pick up on how we feel & react to our behavior. Let’s dig into some key points about this important topic.

  • Emotions Matter: Dogs are super sensitive to their dog parents' emotions. If you’re feeling sad or stressed, they might pick up on those vibes & feel a bit gloomy themselves.

  • Routine is Key: Dogs thrive on routine. If you suddenly change your daily habits or don’t spend enough quality time with them, they might start feeling anxious or lonely.

  • Attention & Affection: Giving your pup lots of love & attention is essential. If they’re missing out on playtime or cuddles, it can lead to feelings of sadness.

So, keep the good vibes flowing & look after both of you! Your happiness & attention can make a huge difference in your dog's mood.

How to avoid bad dog meetings

Hello, I am…& your are??

🐕🐩 Introducing dogs to each other can be a fun adventure but we can also feel anxious about what might happen if the meeting goes bad.

Unless your pooch is every dogs buddy & in a known friendly environment it’s important they meet the best way.

A slow & steady approach helps create a positive experience for both pups. Here’s a quick guide to make those introductions smooth & successful.

Some of these points may seem a bit extreme & you can vary to suit the situation or your dogs temperament, but also consider the other dog.

  1. Have the Right Gear: Make sure your dog is wearing a secure collar or harness & use a 6-foot (2m) leash to keep control. Avoid flexible leashes during this meeting.

  2. Go to a Neutral Space: Find a large outdoor area where neither dog has claimed territory, keeping them at least 30 feet (9m) apart to start.

  3. Note Your Dog’s Body Language: Pay attention to how each dog is acting, signs of discomfort include hard stares, raised hackles, & growling.

  4. Stay Low-Key & Stress-Free: Keep a cheerful attitude throughout the introduction & reward your pup with treats for calm behavior.

  5. Walk Parallel: Start by walking the dogs well apart parallel to each other, so they can notice each other without too much pressure.

  6. Trade Places: After some time, switch positions while maintaining distance, allowing each dog to sniff where the other has been.

  7. Close the Gap: If both dogs are relaxed, gradually decrease the distance while continuing to observe their comfort levels.

Also, avoid face-to-face meetings right away, as it can be stressful for dogs. If you sense any tension or if your dog shows signs of anxiety or aggression, just take a step back and reassess the situation.

With patience & careful observation, you can help your dogs make new friends in no time.

💊6 safe tips to give your dog a pill

Cmon, it’s just a little itty bitty pill🙄

We all know that giving your dog medication can sometimes feel like a wrestling match, but it doesn’t have to be stressful. Here are 6 safe & simple tips to make the process smoother for both you & your pup.

  1. Check the Pill: Always make sure the pill is meant for dogs. Human medications can be dangerous, so double-check with your vet if you're unsure.

  2. Hide It in Food: Try hiding the pill in a favorite treat or some dog safe peanut butter (Xylitol free!). Most dogs won’t even notice it’s there.

  3. Use a Pill Pocket: These are tasty little treats designed to hold pills. They’re super convenient & can make swallowing a lot easier.

  4. Crush & Mix: If your vet says it's okay, crush the pill & mix it with wet food. Just be cautious, as not all medications can be crushed.

  5. Stay Calm & Positive: Your dog can pick up on your emotions, so keep the atmosphere relaxed. Use a cheerful tone to help ease any anxiety.

  6. Reward Afterward: After your dog takes the pill, give them lots of praise or a special treat. This helps create a positive association with taking their medicine.

If you need extra help, ask a friend or family member to hold your pup for you. You can ask your vet for a demonstration or if there are alternatives, like chewables, that are easier for you to give your dog.

With patience, soon your pooch will be taking their medication like a champion.

🤔PAWSE TO REMEMBER

Paw pad protection. Test the temperature of the ground with your hand before walking your dog on hot days to prevent burns on their paw pads.

Beware of de-icing chemicals on cold days that can damage dog paw pads & be harmful if they lick it off. Dip paws in warm water & wash off.

⚠ DO NOT GIVE TO DOGS!

These cannabis gummies keep selling out in 2024

If you've ever struggled to enjoy cannabis due to the harshness of smoking or vaping, you're not alone. That’s why these new cannabis gummies caught our eye.

Mood is an online dispensary that has invented a “joint within a gummy” that’s extremely potent yet federally-legal. Their gummies are formulated to tap into the human body’s endocannabinoid system.

Although this system was discovered in the 1990’s, farmers and scientists at Mood were among the first to figure out how to tap into it with cannabis gummies. Just 1 of their rapid onset THC gummies can get you feeling right within 5 minutes!
