😏OK..NOW WHAT? (your Q & A)
How do I know if my dog trusts me?

The precious pooch & pawrent trust bond💗

It’s vital to know if your doggo trusts you as it’s essential for a strong bond.

Here are 11 signs to look out for that show your dog really does trust you.

  1. Choice of company. If your pup chooses to be around you, it's a strong sign of trust.

  2. Tolerance. When your dog allows things they don't particularly like, such as grooming, it shows trust.

  3. Seeking reassurance. If your pooch looks to you in situations that make them nervous, it means they trust you for comfort.

  4. Giving back. Returning items when asked, even if they were tempted to take them.

  5. Responsive. Responding to your calls & talks positively.

  6. Looking up to you in uneasy situations. Your pupper looks to you for comfort & support in challenging situations.

  7. Open communication. When your pup feels confident expressing themselves to you, it signifies a strong bond of trust.

  8. Wagging tail in a certain way. The way your dog wags their tail can indicate trust, contentment, & happiness.

  9. Rolling onto their back. When your pooch rolls onto their back & shows you their belly, it's a sign of deep trust.

  10. Keeping eye contact. Maintaining eye contact with you shows affection & trust.

  11. Sleeping with you in the room. If your doggo prefers to nap when you're around, it means they feel safe & secure with you.

When you're sharing precious times with your pooch, pay attention to these signs of trust & love! 🥰

In order to really enjoy a dog, one doesn’t merely try to train it to be semi human. The point is to open oneself to the possibility of partly becoming dog”

🧠🌿WOOF WELLBEING
Why doggos stop eating & what to do.🥗

Pretty much every doggo has off food days🤔

🌟 Most of the time we’re thinking about slowing down our gobbling fur buddies, but then suddenly they turn up there nose at food!

Here are some reasons why & things you can do to help them out:

  • Check the food. Maybe your doggo doesn't like what's in their bowl. Check if the food is fresh or try a different brand. Sometimes as they age dogs change taste & food sensitivities.

  • Consider medication. New meds can affect their appetite, so consult the vet for advice.

  • Look for emotional signs. When pooches feel sad or anxious it can impact their eating habits. Ask yourself, is there something in their environment that's stressing them out?

  • Check for illness. Sometimes, a lack of appetite could signal an underlying health issue. Consider a vet visit if your dog continues not to eat.

Remember to ask about dental health & possible infections.

  • Something they ate before. If your pooch has eaten something that upset their tummy that can put them off their food. Signs can be bubbly tummy sounds, sloppy poop, eating grass & possibly vomiting.

Again, consider a vet visit & make sure your pup is drinking enough water.

  • Is your dog a senior? As dogs age, they may slow down & eat less.

Here's what you can do to help your pup regain their appetite:

  • Softening the food. Make the kibble softer by adding warm water or salt-free broth to entice your doggo to eat.

  • Offering canned food. Sometimes, canned food can be more appealing to dogs who may have dental issues.

  • Giving dog-safe human food. Such as boiled rice & boneless chicken meat in small amounts.

  • Cutting back on treats. So your pup is hungrier at meal times

  • Consulting the vet. If you've tried everything & your pup still isn't eating, it's essential to consult your vet for further guidance on their specific needs.

As always it’s important to pay attention to any changes in your pups behavior. 🐶💕

🌍Dog floor licking, the whys & the fixes👅

Hmmm…crumb of pizza mixed with dirt sauce🍕

In last weeks digest we took a lick at why doggos stick their tongue out..now let’s have a sniff at why pooches lick the floor with them🤔

🌟 Sometimes dogs just love the taste of anything yummy left behind on the floor, like crumbs or spilled sauce. They have super sniffers to find those hidden treats!

🌟 If your pup is licking the floor a lot, it could mean they're feeling queasy or have tummy troubles. They might need a vet's help to feel better.

🌟 Doggos might also lick the floor because of mouth pain, stress, boredom, or even because they're super hungry & looking for snacks.

If your pup's floor-licking seems excessive or they're showing signs of discomfort like vomiting or poor appetite, it's best to visit the vet. 🏥

How to Stop Dogs Licking the Floor:

🌟 Keep your pup entertained with interactive toys & games to distract them from licking the floor excessively.

🌟 Ensure your dog gets plenty of exercise and mental stimulation to prevent boredom, which can lead to excessive licking behaviors.

🌟 Provide your pupper with a balanced diet & tasty healthy treats to satisfy their cravings & reduce the urge to lick the floor. 🥩

Let's keep our pups happy, healthy, & floor-licking free!

🤔PAWSE TO REMEMBER

Empower your pooch with choices. Allow your pup to make decisions throughout the day, such as choosing their walking route or playtime activities. This reduces stress & improves their overall wellbeing.

Mental (cognitive) aging differs among dogs & is not linear like humans.
