😏OK..NOW WHAT? (your Q & A)
If your dog gets fearful do this..not this.

Priority 1..Get a smile back on that adorable face.💗
If your dog gets fearful, it can be confusing as to why & tough to know what to do.
As dog parents our hearts sink when we see our pups distressed, but there are ways to help your dog feel safe & happy.
Here are some helpful tips to turn those fearful feelings around.
Don’t punish your dog: Punishment can make fear worse, so it’s best to use kindness instead.
Give your dog space: Let your dog find a safe spot where they feel comfortable, this helps them calm down. (My lap is the favorite safe spot for our pooch❤)
Offer treats: Positive reinforcement is key. Treats can create a happy association with what they’re afraid of (not the reverse as some outdated training methods suggest).
Use calming tools: Items like wraps or calming music can soothe your dog during stressful times (classical music is proven to be the best).
Create a safe zone: Set up a cozy area with their favorite toys & blankets to help them feel secure that they know they can go to.
Stay calm yourself: Dogs pick up on our emotions, so staying relaxed can help them feel safe too.
Practice gradual exposure: Slowly introduce them to the things they fear in a controlled way to build their confidence.
Seek professional help if needed: Sometimes, a trainer or behaviorist can provide extra support & guidance. There are also some calming medications if the fearfulness is repetitive or affecting their mental wellbeing.
Helping your dog feel more secure takes time & patience. With love & the right approach, you can turn those fearful moments into opportunities for growth & bonding.

How best to choose dog toys?..Here’s what science says.

For every pup there’s a top toy, toy, toy, toy……..😀
Choosing the right toys for your dog can feel overwhelming with so many options out there. But don’t worry, science has your back!
Recent research from the University of Bristol reveals what makes certain toys more appealing to our pets. Understanding their preferences can help you pick out toys that will keep them engaged & happy.
Here are some key takeaways to guide your toy shopping:
Preference: Dogs tend to prefer toys that resemble prey, like soft items that can be chewed apart, but be cautious of safety, making sure to dispose of toys if there is a risk of them swallowing pieces or parts like squeekers.
Variety Matters: When testing toys, dogs showed more interest in new & different options, suggesting they love exploring & discovering objects.
Engagement is Key: Soft, noisy toys are more likely to grab a dog's attention, while hard toys often lead to boredom but can be necessary for power chewers. Playtime with you can also make toys much more fun & renew interest in toys.
Next time you're buying a new toy for your dog, check back with these tips.
Finding the right toy can make playtime more exciting & enjoyable for both of you.💗
🐕🦺Dog walking injuries are going up. So whose fault is that?

It takes two to perfect the dog walking tango😏
Dog walking is supposed to be a fun & healthy activity for both you & your dog, but it turns out that injuries are on the rise!
With more dog parents taking their pets out for walks, there are some important factors to consider that can help keep everyone safe. Let’s sniff into what’s happening & how we can do better.
Increased Dog Parenting: More people are adopting dogs, which means more pooches are out on the streets, leading to increased chances of accidents.
Distractions Are Everywhere: With the rise of smartphones & other distractions, dog walkers may not be paying as much attention, making it easier for mishaps to occur.
Improper Gear: Using the wrong equipment, like poorly fitted harnesses or leashes, can lead to injuries for both dogs & dog parents.
Staying safe while walking your pup is important. By being aware of your surroundings, avoiding distractions, & using the right gear, you can help prevent injuries & make those walks enjoyable for both of you.
Happy walking!🙂
