😏OK..NOW WHAT? (your Q & A)
How to Discipline Your Dog with Love so You Both Win.

Disciplining your dog can be a bit tricky, but it doesn’t have to feel like a chore.
It’s all about teaching them what’s okay & what’s not while keeping the love alive between you two. If you want to make sure you’re both winning at this, I’ve got some tips that can help.
Let’s focus on being positive.
Celebrate Good Behavior: When your dog does something right, don’t hold back. Give them praise, a treat, or a good scratch behind the ears (if they like it). It makes a world of difference.
Redirect Attention: If your pup is getting into trouble, gently guide them toward a toy or activity they enjoy. It’s a great way to distract them without fuss.
Use Calm Interruptions: If your pup is misbehaving, make a soft noise to get their attention. A gentle clap or a simple “ah-ah” can help them realize they need to stop.
Time Outs Can Help: If they’re really riled up, a short time out can give them a moment to chill out & think about their actions.
Set Up for Success: If certain things trigger misbehavior, like shoes or trash cans, manage their environment by moving those items out of reach or using baby gates.
Be Consistent: Use the same cues & rules every time so your dog knows what to expect. If you say “off,” it should mean the same thing every time you use it.
Patience is Key: Training takes time & keep training sessions short & often. It’s all about helping your dog learn to be their best self, & that doesn’t happen overnight.
With these steps, discipline can feel less like a struggle & more like a fun learning experience for both of you. You’ll see that teaching your dog with love really pays off & is great for your relationship.

Why Your Dog Nibbles on You & How to Stop it.

If you’ve noticed your dog nibbling on you, you might be scratching your head about what it all means (or thinking about changing your fragrance🤔). Dogs nibble for a variety of reasons, & figuring out the cause is key to addressing it.
So, why might your dog be nibbling on you?
Affection: Nibbling can be a way for your dog to show love & affection.
Playfulness: If they’re feeling playful, nibbling can be part of their fun, especially during playtime.
Teething: Puppies often nibble to relieve discomfort when they’re teething.
Attention-Seeking: Your pup may nibble to get your attention, whether for play or petting.
Grooming Behavior: Dogs often groom each other by nibbling, & they may extend this behavior to you.
Exploration: Dogs use their mouths to explore the world around them, & nibbling is part of that curiosity.
Anxiety or Stress: Nibbling can sometimes indicate that your dog is feeling anxious or stressed.
Boredom: A bored dog might nibble as a way to entertain themselves.
Hunger: If your dog is hungry, they might nibble on you to express their need for food.
Mimicking Behavior: If they see other dogs nibbling or playing, they may imitate that behavior with you.
Seeking Comfort: Nibbling can provide comfort, especially during stressful situations like thunderstorms.
Scent Marking: Dogs have scent glands in their mouths, & nibbling could be a way to mark you as theirs.
Curiosity About Scents: Your skin may have interesting smells that draw your dog in for a nibble.
Habituation: If nibbling has been reinforced in the past (like getting attention), your dog may continue the behavior.
Dental Issues: Sometimes, dogs nibble if they’re experiencing discomfort from dental issues.
So, how can you stop this nibbling behavior?
Redirect Attention: When your dog starts to nibble, redirect them to a toy or chew item instead.
Positive Reinforcement: Reward your dog when they engage with toys instead of nibbling on you. This reinforces good behavior.
Training Commands: Teach commands like “no” or “leave it” to establish clear boundaries about nibbling.
If you don’t mind nibbling but it is too hard then teach the “gentle” command. Also if your pup nibbles too hard give a sharp yelp which often will make them stop.
Increase Exercise: Make sure your dog gets plenty of physical & mental stimulation to curb boredom.
Provide Chew Toys: Offer various chew toys to satisfy their urge to nibble without involving you.
Knowing why your dog nibbles is the first step in addressing it. With a little patience & training, you can help your pup express their affection in a way that works for both of you.💗
😋How Many Treats Are Too Many?

Treats are such a fun way to show love to our dogs, but it’s super easy to lose track of how many we’re giving (& they’re not about to tell us, even though it’s been proven they can count😏). I mean, who can resist those puppy eyes?
OK, I’m here to help you figure it out how many treats are too many?
Stick to the 10% Rule: Treats should only make up about 10% of your dog’s daily calorie intake. It’s an easy way to keep their diet balanced.
Read the Labels: Check out the calorie content on those treat packages. If they’re high in calories, consider giving fewer or smaller treats.
Consider Size: Smaller dogs need fewer calories than larger ones, so adjust treat amounts based on your pup’s size, weight & activity levels.
Go for Healthier Options: Choose low calorie or healthy treats. Fresh veggies like carrots, green beans or other dog safe vegetable & fruit options can be a great way to treat them without extra calories.
Keep an Eye on Weight: Watch your dog’s weight closely. If they start gaining too much, it might be time to cut back on treats.
Use Treats Wisely: Save treats for training or special moments instead of handing them out randomly throughout the day.
Finding the right balance with treats can take a little thought, but it’s worth it to keep your pup healthy & happy!🥕

Secure Heavy Objects. Secure heavy & raised household objects to prevent risk of being knocked & falling from heights onto your dog. Through physical reactions or excitement dogs can run into unstable objects or lose balance & collide with them causing them to fall.
