So your wondering what goes on in your doggo’s mind when they're playing with their toys? A recent study gives us a peek into how our pups think about them.

Researchers found that dogs create mental images of familiar objects in their minds, imagining different sensory features like how the toy looks & smells.

This means when your dog hears the name of a toy, they can actually picture it in their mind!

In the study, some dogs were trained to learn the names of toys & successfully fetched the specific toy when asked, even in the dark.

Dogs were observed to use their senses differently when searching for toys in light & dark conditions. For example, dogs relied more on their sense of smell in the dark. This research sheds light on how dogs play with their toys & pay attention to different features using multiple senses.

Next time you ask your pooch to fetch their favorite toy, know that they're not just responding to words but are actually picturing the toy in their mind!

Let’s take a lick at why doggos stick their tongues out.

Here are six reasons.

1. They're Relaxed. Dogs stick their tongues out when they feel super comfy & relaxed.

2. They're Panting. When dogs are hot, they pant to cool down by evaporating water from their tongues.

3. Underlying Health Issues. Sometimes sticking their tongues out can signal health problems like dental issues or allergies.

4. New Medication. If your dog started new meds, it might affect their tongue-sticking behavior.

5. Hanging Tongue Syndrome. Some dogs have tongues that hang out naturally due to genetics or dental issues.

6. The Flehmen Response. Dogs sometimes taste the air with their tongues to explore scents around them.
