OK..NOW WHAT? (your questions answered)
Why doesn’t my dog sleep all night?

Just like us our pups have things that keep them awake at night🌙

It's totally normal to wonder why your dog is having trouble sleeping through the night. Here's a look into some of the common reasons & helpful remedies to ensure your pooch gets the rest they need:

Reasons why your dog may not be sleeping well

  • Anxiety, especially common in new dogs or those with separation anxiety.

  • Health issues such as pain, discomfort, or cognitive issues.

  • Distractions like noise or excess energy.

  • A full bladder or nightmares/sleepwalking.

  • Something on their mind..yes, really..read on..

A recent study with 16 adult dogs of different breeds revealed that dogs, much like humans, are affected by what happens socially before bedtime.

Positive experiences, like playing with their dog parents, led to deeper & more restful doggo sleep. On the flip side, negative encounters such as being left alone or approached by a stranger disrupted their sleep.

Surprisingly, the study showed that dogs who had negative experiences before bed actually fell asleep quicker than those with positive interactions & outgoing playful pups were found to be less stressed.

Remedies to help your dog sleep better

  • Check their bed & look at changing to a more comfortable & supportive option.

  • Use soothing sounds or aromatherapy like lavender to create a relaxing environment.

  • Adjust the temperature & eliminate distractions for a peaceful sleep environment.

  • Consider medicinal calming aids or consult your vet for advice.

Tips for helping your dog settle at night

  • Provide comforting objects like blankets or toys.

  • Stick to a consistent bedtime routine with ‘quiet time’ & ensure your dog gets enough exercise during the day.

  • Call the vet if issues persist, especially for older dogs.

Also, Next time your dog seems restless at night, consider the social experiences they had during the day – it might just shed some light on their nighttime behavior.

A well-rested doggo is a happy doggo, so let’s make sure our pups get the quality sleep they deserve.💗💤

WOOF WELLBEING
🌟 Why doggos eat grass & when or how should you stop it.🐕

Sometimes you just have to scratch that grassy itch😏

🌟 It’s not unusual to find a dog munching on grass & wonder why they do it? Here are some reasons why pooches indulge in this behavior & what you can do about it.

Reasons why dogs eat grass

  • Grass tastes good

  • Nutritional needs

  • Stomach upset

  • Boredom

  • Behavioral conditions like anxiety or compulsive disorders

Eating grass now & then isn’t usually cause for concern, but it can have risks.

It’s best to stop grass eating in unfamiliar gardens or public spaces, as grass may contain things that can be harmful to dogs like chemicals, parasites, germs that cause diseases or unsafe human food scraps.

Remedies to stop dogs from eating grass

  • Training: Teach your dog to leave grass alone with a cue like "leave it".

  • Enrichment: Ensure your pup gets enough exercise & mental stimulation to prevent boredom.

  • Diet changes: Check if your doggo's food is balanced & consider higher fiber options for better digestion.

Also, if you notice any unusual behavior or if you're concerned about your dog's health, don't hesitate to reach out to your veterinarian.
