This Privacy Policy explains how Worlds Very Best Pty Ltd (ABN 66 644 926 134), trading as Best DOG'S Life ("Best DOG'S Life", "we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information across all of our services. This includes our websites, our online brain-health quiz and the personalized results and reports it generates, our newsletter and email communications, our paid digital products and programs, our books, any subscription app we offer now or in the future, and any related pages, tools, or offers we operate.

Best DOG'S Life provides educational and general-information content for canine wellbeing and brain health. Our quiz produces an informational score and general guidance for dog parents. It is not veterinary advice, a diagnosis, or a substitute for care from a qualified veterinarian. We explain this here because it shapes what our data is and is not: the observations you share about your dog are used to give you educational content, not to make any clinical or legally significant decision about you.

The information we collect

We collect information in three ways: information you give us directly, information we collect automatically when you use our services, and information we receive from the service providers we work with.

Information you give us directly

When you take our quiz, we collect your email address, your dog's name, your dog's breed, your dog's age, your dogs gender, and your answers to the quiz questions. The quiz answers are your own observations about your dog's behavior and wellbeing, covering things such as sleep, disorientation, anxiety, and house-accidents.

This information is about your pet and your observations of your pet. It is not information about a person's own health, and it is not special-category or sensitive personal information under privacy law. We treat it with care all the same.

When you subscribe to our newsletter or emails, we collect your email address and any name you provide.

When you buy a product or program, our payment provider collects the information needed to process your payment (see "How we share your information" below). We receive confirmation of your purchase, the product bought, and the email address associated with the order.

When you contact us for support or with a question, we collect the information you choose to share, such as your name, email address, and the contents of your message.

When you create an account or use our subscription app, we collect the information you provide within those features, such as account login details, content you create (for example, notes, journal entries, tracking logs, or photos you choose to upload), and your settings and preferences. If we add materially new features to the app, we will update this policy to describe them.

To process purchases: to take payment, confirm and fulfill your order, provide receipts, and keep records required for accounting, tax, and legal purposes.
To run and improve our services: to operate, maintain, secure, and analyze our websites and services, understand how they are used, and improve them.
To improve our products and build benchmarks: we use aggregated and de-identified quiz and outcome data to improve our scoring, refine our content, and build general benchmarks (for example, typical patterns by breed or age group). This analytical dataset is kept separate from information that identifies you and, wherever possible, does not have names or contact details attached to it.
To advertise: to measure the performance of our advertising, understand which campaigns lead to sign-ups and purchases, and show relevant ads (where permitted, and subject to your choices, described below).
To protect our business and comply with the law: to prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our terms, protect our legal rights, and meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

Advertising platforms (Meta, Google, TikTok, Pinterest, and others we may use from time to time)	We share limited event data for the same measurement and targeting purposes described for Meta above. We may add or change advertising platforms over time.
Google Analytics	Helps us understand how visitors find and use our sites so we can improve them.

We may also disclose your information to comply with applicable laws, to respond to a lawful request such as a subpoena or court order, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Best DOG'S Life, our users, or others. If our business is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, and we will notify you of any change in how your information is handled.

Advertising and analytics

We advertise our services online through several platforms, which currently include Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google, TikTok, and Pinterest, and which may change over time. To measure whether our advertising works, we use measurement tools provided by these platforms, such as advertising pixels and tags and their server-side conversion measurement. These tools let us see, for example, that a visitor started the quiz, subscribed, or bought a product, so we can understand which campaigns are effective and show relevant ads. This may involve sharing limited information, such as a hashed email address or event data, with the advertising platform.

We also use analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to understand how our sites are used so we can improve them.

Newsletter and quiz data: we keep this while you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe from our emails, we stop sending you marketing and keep a minimal record of your email address on a suppression list, so that we do not contact you again or accidentally re-add you in a future campaign. If you ask us to delete your data, we remove your personal information from our email platform and from our backup record, other than the minimal suppression record needed to keep honoring your opt-out and any records we are required to keep by law.
Purchase records: we retain records of your purchases for as long as required to meet our accounting, tax, and legal obligations, even after you unsubscribe. This is typically several years, as required by law.
De-identified analytics data: because this data no longer identifies you, we may keep it indefinitely to improve our products and maintain benchmarks.

When we no longer need your information, we delete or de-identify it.

International data transfers

We are based in Australia and offer our services globally. Our service providers are located in Australia, the United States, and other countries. This means your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries outside your own, including countries whose data-protection laws may differ from those where you live. Our major processors, including Beehiiv, Stripe, Cloudflare, and Meta, offer data processing terms that incorporate these safeguards, and we rely on those terms for transfers from the UK and EU. By using our services, you understand that your information may be processed in these locations.

Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including serving our sites over encrypted connections, keeping our system credentials on the server side rather than in your browser, restricting access to our backup records to authorized people only, and collecting only the information we need. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information appropriately given its sensitivity.

Your rights

We will remove your personal information from our email platform (Beehiiv) and from our backup record (our Google Sheets mirror), other than a minimal suppression record kept solely to honor your email opt-out and any purchase or transaction records we are required by law to keep. We may keep de-identified data that no longer identifies you.

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or updated, to have it erased, to restrict or object to how we process it, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).

Australia (Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles)

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate. Our services are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Automated decision-making

Our quiz uses an algorithm to calculate an informational score and select general educational content for you. This does not produce any decision that has a legal effect on you or that otherwise significantly affects you. We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects.

Spam and unsolicited email

We do not intentionally send unsolicited messages. You can unsubscribe from our marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us, and we place unsubscribed addresses on a suppression list so they are not contacted again. If you believe you have received an unsolicited message from us, please let us know.
